Frank Marion Walker: An Iwo Jima Survivor Tells his Story
Saturday, June 28
3:30-4:30 PM
Upstairs in Rooms A & B
Frank Marion Walker - a Marine during the war and one of very few living survivors of the battle of Iwo Jima in World War II (the deadliest battle in Marine Crops history) will make a stunning presentation of that battle. Iwo Jima has become and icon in our coutnry's history, and yet, so many know so little about it.
The purpose of this presentation is to help recognize the battle's historical value and keep the public informed of the horrible conditions that are caused by war. Learn about the Flag Raising on Mt. Suribachi, and the battle of Iwo Jima, icons in united States history. It is a story - not for the faint of heart - having been the bloodiest battle on such a tiny island in Japan. Be sure not to miss this patriotic presentation.
