Library Cards
A patron must come in to the library to get a library card. See below for the type of card for which you are eligible.
Resident Borrowers
Use of the library is free to any resident of Guilford Township who makes proper application and agrees to comply with the rules.
Non-Resident Borrowers
Adult residents of Indiana who are not Guilford Township residents are eligible for library cards upon receipt of proper application and annual fee.
Borrower Registration
- Prospective borrowers must present a current Indiana Driver's License.
- Library cards are available the day of application.
- Patrons must present their cards to borrow materials.
- A charge is made to replace lost cards.
Charges
- Free to residents of Guilford Township
- Free Reciprocal Borrowing if you are a resident user in good standing of any public library in Hendricks County
- Free to holders of Public Library Access Cards ($30 in 2008; see below for details)
- $80.00 to Indiana residents who do not reside in an area taxed for and served by a library
- $3.00 for a replacement library card
Public Library Access Cards (PLAC)
A Public Library Access Card (PLAC) allows you to borrow materials from any participating public library in the state of Indiana. To be eligible for a PLAC you must have a valid resident or non-resident library card from a participating Indiana library. The 2008 PLAC fee is $30. You can purchase your PLAC from any public library.
A PLAC is valid for one year from the date issued. Cardholders are responsible for materials borrowed and must follow the policies of the loaning library. Material must be returned to the library where it was borrowed.
