Everyone Loves Summer Reading!

We had another wonderful summer filled with reading and fun at the Plainfield-Guilford Township Public Library! The 2011 Summer Reading Club: One World, Many Stories featured dozens of cultural programs and activities for all ages. Almost 2,000 people participated in this year’s Summer Reading Club, reading over 36,100 books.

Children who completed their reading goal won a free book to keep. Adults, teens and tweens who completed their goal were entered to win a grand prize. Vicky Klindt won the Adult Summer Reading Club grand prize of a family membership to the Plainfield Recreation and Aquatic Center, sponsored by the Town of Plainfield; Ryan Marks won the Teen Summer Reading Club grand prize of an Apple iPad 2, sponsored by Brightpoint; Paul Planker won the Tween Summer Reading Club grand prize of an Apple iPod Nano, also sponsored by Brightpoint.

WRC 2011 = Success!

The 2011 Winter Reading Club was a great success with over 300 participants reading over 3,000 books! Breanna Dunfee was the children’s grand prize winner of a gift basket full of goodies; Joshua Close was the teen grand prize winner of a Flip video camera, and Valerie Cortez was the adult grand prize winner of a Barnes & Noble Nook.
