Splash into Reading with a party on the library's front porch. Readers of all ages can register for the Summer Reading Club and Enjoy snacks and fun activities.

 

ARRR, It's the Pirates Show!

Saturday, July 31 from 2:00pm - 2:45pm, upstairs in McMillan A & B

Paul Odenwelder, as Squiffy Paul O the Pirate, makes the Golden Age of Pirates come to life with stories, songs and pirate talk. His pirate clothes, Jolly Roger Flag, ropes, and treasure chest set the scene for this fun adventure.

Teddy Bear Sleepover

In the Children's Activity RoomTeddy Bear in Pajamas

Ages 5-8

Bring your teddy bear, favorite stuffed animal or doll (along with a towel for your teddy to sleep on) to a library beach party and sleepover. We'll enjoy party snacks and play games with your teddy bear on Friday afternoon. Your teddy will spend the night enjoying bedtime stories and games with other teddys after you go home. Please come back Saturday morning at 9:00 to pick up your teddy.

In this 6-week course, children will gain confidence as they learn basic drawing skills. Participants will receive individual instruction as they work from photographs and still-life compositions. Students should bring pencils, an eraser, and a sketchbook to class.

Need a quiet place to study? The library has set aside a special place and time for middle school and high school students to prepare for their final exams. Snacks, basic school supplies and reference materials will be available.

 

Catch the Wave Tie-Dye Stamped T-ShirtTie-Dye T-Shirt and Potato Stamp

Thursday, July 15 from 1:30pm - 4:30pm, in Area T

Ages 13-18

Make your own tie dyed t-shirt with a beach theme, then make potato stamps to complete the decoration process while the shirts dry. What a fun way to spend a summer afternoon!
