Accelerated Reader List for the Plainfield Middle School
Accelerated Reader is a software program created by Renaissance Learning and used in many schools to encourage reading. How the program is used varies from one school to the next.
The Middle School AR List is located at the Adult/Young Adult Information Desk.
Our online list highlights the books found in the Plainfield-Guilford Township Public Library collection. When you find a book you want to read go to our online catalog, iBistro, to see if it's in or if you need to put it on hold.
Award Winners
- Young Hoosier Book Award 2005-2006 Middle Grade Nominees
- The Young Hoosier Book Award is chosen by student vote and sponsored by the Association of Media Educators and the Indiana Library Federation.
- Eliot Rosewater Award
The Eliot Rosewater Award is named after the fictional character in books by the Indiana-born author, Kurt Vonnegut, including probably the best known, God Bless You, Mr. Rosewater. The Award was established to honor Vonnegut and other Hoosier writers while at the same encouraging Indiana high school students to read for fun and enjoyment.
High School students (grades 9-12) throughout Indiana vote each year on approximately 20 nominated books for the book they enjoy the most. Each voting student must have read at least 5 of the 20 nominated books titles. The winning title is announced in April. The winning author is invited to receive the "Rosie Award" at a special event which is sponsored by the Association of Media Educators and the Indiana Library Federation.
