Princesses, Enchantments, and the King of the Underworld!

Princess of the Midnight Ball by Jessica Day George
I loved it!  Mystery, magic and a touch of romance and you have a really good chick book.  The princess ’ mother Maude makes two bargains with the king of the underworld.  Of course it is a big mistake but luckily the handsome soldier comes to break the curse.  If you like fairy tales and the retellings this one was very entertaining.

Every little thing in the world by Nina de Gramont

New Cadillac, no driver’s license, a party with beer, Sydney and Natalia’s in big trouble.  As punishment the two girls are sent to a four week wilderness canoe trip in Canada without the comforts of home.  No cell phones, no computers, and find out how they survive.  Good Read.

Crash Into Me by Albert Borris

The cover looks like a totally innocent love story but actually it’s a bit twisted.  This is the story of four teens that meet online and decide to take a suicidal cross country trip.  Instead of death they find friends and reasons to take things one day at a time.

Blessing's bead by Debby Dahl Edwardson

This book is told in two voices first the grandmother then her teenage granddaughter.  Blessing’s mother goes into rehab and she and her brother are sent to their grandmothers in northern Alaska.  Blessing and her brother learns about their Iñupiaq heritage while living with her grandmother.  It’s an interesting book both historically and socially.
