Community Costume Closet

Community Costume Closet

Tired of dressing up as the same thing for each annual Halloween party? Does your child have fleeting interests? Costumes can be expensive; what do you do with all these barely used costumes?

The Plainfield-Guilford Township Public Library is accepting clean, gently used Halloween costumes of all sizes–baby, child, teen, and adult–for our first ever Community Costume Closet. You can donate a costume without taking one, take a costume without donating one, or donate a costume and take one!

Drop off costumes at the children’s desk during open library hours between Monday, September 23, and Friday, October 4. We ask that costumes be in good to excellent condition, with no rips, tears, or stains.

Costumes will be sorted by size for you to browse for a new-to-you favorite on Sunday, October 6, from 1-4:30 p.m. Swap last year’s princess for a pirate, a bumblebee for a ballerina, or a dinosaur for a doctor!

Any remaining costumes will be donated to a local nonprofit community service organization. For more information visit our Events calendar. For questions please contact Youth Services Manager Kristal Hellmann at khellmann@plainfieldlibrary.net or 317-839-6602 ext. 2127.
