Indiana Firefly Award Voting

Indiana Firefly Award Voting

It’s time to vote for the 2021 Indiana Firefly Awards!

What: The Indiana Firefly Award is an annual award for books for young children. Children read and vote on the books, and the book with the most votes wins! The books are available to check out from our physical collection, or you can experience the five nominated titles through video.

The 2021 nominees are:

The Box Turtle by Vanessa Roeder

Brown Baby Lullaby by Tameka Fryer Brown

How Do You Dance? by Thyra Heder

Red House, Tree House, Little Bitty Brown Mouse by Jane Godwin

Who Has Wiggle-Waggle Toes? by Vicky Shiefman

Who: Children 0-5 are encouraged to vote for their favorite nominated book. Very young children can vote by pointing or showing other special interest in one of the books, and someone older can vote for them.

When: between now and July 31st.

Where: Vote in person in the Children’s Room at PGTPL, or vote online using the remote voting form.

Why? It’s fun! The books are excellent to share with young children and voting engages them in the award process.

This is the 10th year for the Firefly Award! You can see all the past nominees and winners at the Indiana State Library website.
