It’s Gingerbread Season at the Plainfield Library!

Show off your sweet-making skills in the Library’s first ever Gingerbread House Contest!

Drop-off your entry December 2nd or 3rd in the Gallery during library hours.

Entries will be accepted in three categories:

  • Traditional-(the house is made of traditional gingerbread and everything on the house is edible).
  • Non-traditional– (includes gingerbread “style” houses that are non-edible).
  • Children-(houses of all types that are made by children under age 12).

Entries will be on display in the Gallery December 9th-20th. Gingerbread houses be judged and prizes will be awardeded at the Gingerbread Awards Party!

Join us for the Gingerbread House Contest Awards Party Monday, December 9 from 6:00-7:30pm. Listen to stories read by Mrs. Claus, make a gingerbread-related craft, then enjoy hot chocolate and gingerbread cookies as you view entries in the library’s Gingerbread House Contest. See contest winners and vote for your favorite for the People’s Choice Award.

Houses may be picked up during library hours December 21st.

We are open at 50% occupancy. Check our Facebook page for our current hours of operation! Access our digital collections here. As always, if you have questions, send us an email!
