MANHATTAN SHORT Film Festival

PGTPL Named Screening Venue for Global Film Festival!

For one week, more than 100,000 film lovers will gather in cinemas, museums, universities, and libraries in cities around the world for the 22nd Annual MANHATTAN SHORT Film Festival. For the first time, Plainfield will be on the list of these cities and Plainfield-Guilford Township Public Library will be a hosting venue. Join a global audience and help decide which film becomes the winner in what has been called “The world’s most people-powered Film Festival!”!

By virtue of their selection into the MANHATTAN SHORT Film Festival, each film will be eligible to enter the Oscar competition for 2020. Past finalists have gone on to be nominated, and even win, the Oscar. This is your chance to become a film critic for a night, cast your vote, and help send a film to the Academy Awards.

The library will host three separate screenings of the festival’s top short film entries, each lasting about two hours. Although the films are not rated, content and language may not be suitable for children. At each screening, attendees will be given a ballot to cast their vote for the Best Film and Best Actor awards. Votes will be immediately sent to the festival headquarters; winners will be announced on Monday, October 7.

Screening dates and times:

Thursday, September 26, at 6 p.m.

Sunday, September 29, at 2 p.m.

Thursday, October 3, at 2 p.m.
