March 2023 Silent Auction

March 2023 Silent Auction

It’s March, winter is nearly over, and it’s time to think about what comes with warmer weather!  We have two Easter baskets in the Friends of the Plainfield Library silent auction this month.  They include a stuffed animal, an I am a Bunny book by Richard Scarry, a coloring/activity book with crayons and markers, and much more.  Candy is not included and they are suitable for children over three.

Children might also enjoy A Treasury of Dick and Jane and Friends, stories that their grandparents and great-grandparents became familiar with while learning to read in school.  Billy Joel’s Goodnight, My Angel: A Lullabye, complete with CD, is also available and captures the special bond between parent and child.

For lovers of comic strips, we have the ever popular Calvin and Hobbes: Sunday Pages 1985-1995, and Large Print, part of the Unshelved collection about “that very funniest of places, your local public library”! With story titles such as “7,000 Miles on Pork & Beans” and “I Spent Christmas 1944 Under a Haystack”, Reminisce Life in the Fantastic ’40s should be interesting for all ages.  There is also local author Philip Gulley’s For Everything a Season, with simple, humorous stories about real (and quirky) people.

Stop by the lobby display case when you are at the library this month to see all the offerings and place a bid on your favorite!  Funds raised will benefit library programs for the community.  Thank you for your support.
