Now that it’s May, it’s hard for a book to compete with the nice weather, outdoor activities, and all the important events that occur this month. However, the Friends of the Plainfield Library have some interesting items in the May silent auction you may want to see!
To commemorate Memorial Day, we have The Second World War, Volumes I and II, by Winston S.
Churchill and The Editors of Life. It is a firsthand account of the war from Churchill’s memoirs enhanced by Time Magazine photographs. For those of you thinking about what to get Dad for Father’s Day, the auction includes books on a wide range of topics he might like – home repairs, Wrigley Field, spirits, landscaping, the Indianapolis 500, and plank cooking!
Be sure to stop by the lobby display case when you visit the library in May. You will find these items and more thanks to the generous donations made by our library patrons. All proceeds from the auction benefit library programs for the community. Thank you for your support!
