The goodreads website offers the same options as the app plus much more, so checking it out is totally worth it as well. You can:

  • Get read-alikes for your favorite authors or books
  • View a plethora of lists (best scary books, books about the 1950s, books about serial killers, etc.)
  • Take quizzes about all things literature
  • Enter to win book giveaways
  • View author and book quotes
  • Link your goodreads profile to Facebook so you can share your reading activity and keep up we what your friends are reading
  • Set a reading goal for yourself and track your progress

Try these exploration ideas:

  • Make a casual book group among your Facebook friends, then start a goodreads discussion board for it
  • Set a reading goal for yourself (don’t forget to track your books in the summer/winter reading program at the library!)
  • Use the app to scan the next cool book you see while out shopping, then check the library catalog for it
  • Download a free ebook, then share your thoughts in the app
