Plainfield Film Festival Favorite nominated for Oscar!

Plainfield Film Festival Favorite nominated for Oscar!

Last fall, the library was a venue for the MANHATTAN SHORT Film Festival. Each person that attended cast their vote for the best of 10 films which were tallied and submitted to the festival headquarters. These votes were collected from all over the world, and the Gold Medal winner from the festival was the film Sylvia. The Silver Medal went to Nefta Football Club, and the Bronze Medal went to This Time Away.

Locally – that is, according to our attendee votes – the winner of best picture was Nefta Football Club, which is a nominee for an Oscar in the Live Action Short Film category!

You can watch this wonderful film online (not suitable for children).

The MANHATTAN SHORT film festival is the world’s first and only global film festival. We are very excited to offer this festival to our community. Be sure to mark your calendars for the festival next fall, between September 24-October 4, 2020.
