15 Nov Quaker Break Food Truck
The Quaker Break Food Truck visited the library on Friday, November 15 to sell popcorn, cookies, and drinks to staff and library patrons. The Quaker Break is staffed by special needs students from the Plainfield High School who are working on vocational skills while also providing delicious snacks for the community. While the Quaker Break is a fun opportunity for students, they are also able to gain valuable social and communication experiences that will help prepare them for the workforce. Several staff members and library patrons stopped by the Quaker Break to pick up snacks while visiting the library. “It was so nice to be able to stop by and not only get a snack, but support the students who work so hard to make the Quaker Break Food Truck a success.” said Joanna Sproull, Community Liaison at the Plainfield-Guilford Township Public Library. “We hope they come back to the library again!”
