17 Nov Reading Nutrition Labels + Chair Exercises
How many calories am I actually eating? What does % Daily Value mean? On December 1 at 1 pm, we will learn to read and understand nutritional labels. In today’s day and age, reading a nutrition label can be a challenging task, one that many Americans ignore or interpret incorrectly. This is one reason that more that one-third of the adults in the United States are obese (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 2015). Therefore, in an effort to eat better and live healthier lives, it is important to decode the nutrition label and figure out how to make healthier food choices.
At 2 pm, we will learn to do certain exercises while sitting in a chair. We can hardly usher in the month of December without some seasonal treats. Ours will be in the form of coffee and/or eggnog and Christmas goodies. You will not want to miss this fun-filled, educational program! Registration is suggested so that we will know how many goodies to offer.
