14 May Summer Reading Club Kick-Off & Children’s Room Grand Re-Opening
The moment you’ve all been waiting for is here: it’s time to kick-off our Summer Reading Club and reveal our brand new children’s room! Summer Reading Club 2014 starts out with a “Fizz! Boom! Read!” on Monday, June 2, from 5:30-8:30, with a performance by Mr. Molecule. This interactive science show will run from 5:30-6:30, with other activities to follow. This year’s kick-off party is going to be a blast! Get ready for live music provided by Launch Pad, free T-shirts for children birth-grade 5 (sponsored by the Friends of the Library, while supplies last), a bouncy castle, Hoopla demos and a Hoopla-hoop contest, Macaroni Kid, cotton candy, pop rocks, and other science-related activities and snacks.
Our brand new children’s room will also officially be open at this time! Come and see all the new changes. Furniture, carpet, paint, interactive activity stations, and technology have all gotten an exciting facelift. This is your chance to familiarize yourself with this fabulous new space.
You can get ready for Summer Reading Club 2014: Fizz! Boom! Read! now by pre-registering. Click here to get started. Set a reading goal you think you can accomplish between June 2 – July 31. Children birth – age 5 set a goal. Once they reach their reading goal they will receive a free book. Children grades 6 and up as well as adults can enter to win a prize once per each book they read.
