Happy Birthday, Jane Austen!

Happy Birthday, Jane Austen!

Jane Austen is one of the most important and popular authors in English history. Her novels discussing love, family, and society have been adored for centuries. Readers of all ages connect to the wit of Elizabeth Bennet, the compassionate nature of George Knightly, and the sisterhood between Elinor and Marianne Dashwood.

Austen’s novels have also been adapted and reimagined into books and movies countless times. The latest movie adaptation of Emma, released March 2020, was a huge hit and received a Rotten Tomatoes score of 87%. The CW television network even announced they are developing a new tv series called Modern Austen that modernizes Austen’s novels.
