We want to make it as easy as possible for you to find a great book. So, we teamed up with Duke Energy, the Plainfield Parks and Recreation Department, an enterprising Eagle Scout, and others to install over twenty Little Free Libraries all around town. The idea behind a Little Free Library is simple: take a book, leave a book. Use the map below to find the nearest Little Free Library or click here to learn more about Plainfield’s Little Free Library system. In 2016, we acquired a bike-powered bookmobile, our “Book Bike.” Look for the Book Bike at the Plainfield Farmers’ Market, at various festivals, parks, at the mall, and on the trails! Would you like Book Bike to come visit your area? Send a note to Matthew! In addition to transporting a surprising amount of books and other materials, the Book Bike functions as a wifi hotspot, allowing us to demonstrate a wide variety of digital resources from the Library. Most of all, we love riding around town!
Due to the rise of COVID-19 cases in the county, beginning Monday, November 30, we will operate on reduced hours and with limited access to the building. Click here for complete details about the services offered. Have questions? Email us at AskUs@PlainfieldLibrary.net or call us 317-839-6602.
