Hendricks County cooks!

Did you know that the library has a large collection of Hendricks County cookbooks dating back to 1897? The cookbooks were locally published by a wide variety of organizations including schools, churches, clubs, and more. They feature family-favorite recipes from Plainfield and Hendricks County residents. We are excited to be able to bring some of these local cooks in to demonstrate their recipes and talk about cooking. Be sure to check out the Plainfield-Guilford Township Library YouTube channel to view new episodes and watch the recipes come to life.

In the first episode, join our cooks David and Kylie Brinker as they make David’s mother’s recipe, Johnny Marzetti macaroni casserole. The recipe can be found in Treasured Recipes, a cookbook created in 2008 by the Plainfield-Guilford Township Public Library. David grew up in Plainfield and has worked at the library since 2001 where he met his wife, Kylie Sokol. David’s mother, Denise Harris, has been making the Johnny Marzetti recipe as long as he can remember and it has always been a family favorite. Join us as Kylie and David recreate his mother’s recipe and share some of their favorites (and least favorite) recipes growing up.
