PGTPL Photograph Collection Database

The Indiana Room at the Plainfield-Guilford Township Public Library maintains an historical photograph collection of pictures concerning Plainfield, Guilford Township and Hendricks County, Indiana. This database is an index to all photos in the collection. If you have any questions about the database, contact us by e-mail or phone (317) 839-6602 ext. 2114. If you would like to request a digitized copy of a photograph, please contact Reann Poray (rporay@plainfieldlibrary.net).

As of April 2013, we are uploading the images to the database so that a photograph will accompany the index entry.  When searching the index, you will have better results if you use KEYWORDS (railroads, Plainfield, Indiana Boys School, etc.) rather than multiple words or sentences.

SUBJECT = refers to the physical file where the original photo is located. This is based on our subject listings for the collection.  (like a subject heading)

DESCRIPTION = textual description of the photo, including names, locations and dates (more flexible to search, allows for searching names)

Requesting Copies of Photographs:
There is no set fee for our services. Donations to the Library’s Gift Fund are gratefully received and will be used to buy additional materials for the collection. Checks may be made out to: Plainfield Public Library.

Send request to: Reann Poray (rporay@plainfieldlibrary.net)
