Directed Drawing: Cute Turtle

Looking for a fun activity to do at home this summer? Follow along with these simple steps to learn how to draw your very own turtle. Turtles come in all shapes and sizes, so do not worry about trying to make your turtle perfect, and remember that you can always try again!

You’ll Need

  • Blank paper
  • Pencil
  • Crayons or Markers

Instructions

Step 1: Draw a round oval at the center of your paper.

Step 2: Draw the head of the turtle at the top of the oval.

Step 3: Draw two arms and two legs.

Step 4: Draw a triangle at the bottom of the oval for a tail, then draw eyes on the head.

Step 5: Draw a smaller circle inside of the shell. Use the bigger circle as your guide.

Step 6: Draw a hexagon in the middle of the shell.

Step 7: Connect each point of the hexagon to the inner circle to complete the shell.

Step 8: Color your turtle. All done!

We hope you enjoyed learning how to draw this cute turtle! Be sure to check out our events calendar for in-person Directed Drawing programs or other similar activities throughout the rest of summer.
