19 Dec Freegal Subscription Update
The Plainfield-Guilford Township Public Library will not be renewing our Freegal or Freading subscriptions from Library Ideas when the current term ends at the beginning of 2026. Due to anticipated revenue shortfalls over the next several years, we are reevaluating services and making decisions accordingly.
While Freegal has offered downloadable music for many years, and Freading has offered eBooks, they it does not enjoy widespread usage when compared to other services such as Hoopla and Libby.
Freegal will remain available until the subscription ends on January 1, 2026. Any music already downloaded is yours to keep. Freading will also end at this time.
For your listening pleasure, we suggest browsing our considerable in-house collection or searching the Evergreen catalog for your music needs. Many Evergreen Indiana libraries have sizable music collections that can be placed on hold and sent to you for pickup at the Plainfield library.
