June Silent Auction

June Silent Auction

Next time you’re at the library, stop by the display case to see what’s new in the June silent auction organized by the Friends of the Plainfield Library. There are books for cooks (several vintage!), kids, superhero fans, lighthouse lovers, and science fiction followers.

The auction also features books with history shapers Abraham Lincoln and Winston Churchill, as well as larger-than-life entertainers Cary Grant, Elvis Presley and Marlene Dietrich. Perhaps a lesser-known personality, William Glackens, covers the life and works of one of the most versatile and popular American artists of the early 20th century.

If you’re in need of a good laugh, Peanuts – A Golden Celebration: The Art and the Story of the World’s Best-Loved Comic Strip and Calvin and Hobbes books are sure to brighten your day!

Thank you to those who donate the interesting books in the auction. The proceeds support library programs for the community.
