Spring Into Reading
Warmer weather is returning, flowers are blooming, and the library has lots of fun activities planned for the season!

Bookmark Reading Promotion
In March, we designed and printed special bookmarks for the Van Buren Elementary PTO to distribute to students participating in their spring reading challenge!
Youth Services Conference
Kristal and Maureen attended the Indiana Library Federation’s annual Youth Services Conference in Muncie and presented a session on “Rethinking Storytime” to a full room! The presentation focused on our experience reimagining storytime to focus on community needs and removing barriers to access.
Children’s Room TikTok
The Children’s Room is now on TikTok! Follow us for booktalks, funny videos, and more.
Diaper Drive
April 1-30 | Donate diapers at the library all month! Donated diapers will be contributed to the Hendricks County Health Department’s diaper bank to distribute to families in Hendricks County.

Children’s Book Week at PGTPL

Children’s Book Week, established in 1919, is a celebration of books and the connection they bring. This beloved program continues to grow and adapt each year with new resources and ideas for joining in. Visit the Children’s Room all week to celebrate children’s books at PGTPL with special activities!
Monday – Friday Book Cover Gallery. Color the cover of your favorite book and display it at the library!
Tuesday Dress Up Day. Dress up as your favorite children’s book character and get a special sticker.
Wednesday DIY Bookmark Station. Create a bookmark to take home with you.
Thursday Book Scavenger Hunt. Find books, complete the scavenger hunt, and get a special prize!

Yes, it’s true! Summer Reading Club is already on the horizon! Signups begin on Friday, May 1 and the SRC Kickoff Party for children will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 4:30-6p. Join us all summer for special programs and activities.
