August has arrived and that brings new offerings to the Plainfield Friends of the Library silent auction. Stop by the lobby display case next time you are at the library to see what’s new! Books on art, war, knots, famous people, dinosaurs and faraway places (including ocean and sky) are just some of the topics covered in this month’s auction.
If you need a good laugh, you might enjoy Homicidal Psycho Jungle Cat: A Calvin and Hobbes Collection or A Look Inside… For Better or for Worse (10th Anniversary). For superhero enthusiasts, the auction includes Wonder Woman Omnibus and Batman: Secrets Gallery Edition. The Cedar Cove Cookbook shows fans of Debbie Macomber how to fix delicious meals found in her books while The Modern Huntsman Cookbook focuses on the sustainable use of our wild resources.
The auction is held monthly with new and interesting items on display each month. Bidding for this month will end at 4pm on Friday, August 31. All proceeds go to support library programs for the community. Thanks to all who donate and support the auction.
