July 2022 Silent Auction

July 2022 Silent Auction

July is here and that means the Friends of the Plainfield Library (FOL) is offering a new selection of books in the Silent Auction. There are books for cooks and bakers, bird enthusiasts, cat and dog lovers, do-it-yourselfers, and motorsport fans. For those who like to mix family life with laughter, you may relate to the eight-book set of the For Better or For Worse comic strip from the 1990s.

Other offerings include Jane’s Encyclopedia of Aviation with vital statistics for more than 5,000 air and space craft, and Stephen Biesty’s Incredible Cross-Sections featuring cross-section drawings of structures such as the Empire State Building and Space Shuttle. Another interesting pick is Moby-Duck: The True Story of 28,800 Bath Toys Lost at Sea & of the Beachcombers, Oceanographers, Environmentalists & Fools Including the Author Who Went in Search of Them. If you are interested in lighthouses, Anatomy of the Lighthouse has pictures, diagrams, styles, history and more.

Books will be displayed in the lobby case until July 31, and you can submit your bid in the notebook on the FOL kiosk nearby. If you haven’t visited the library recently, please note that the bid book is on the far side of the kiosk near the windows. All proceeds are used to fund library programs for the community. Thank you for your support!
