With days getting shorter and temperatures dropping, you might be thinking about spending more time
indoors. The October silent auction is underway in the lobby of the Plainfield library and may have what
you need to entice you inside.
The auction features several books on quilting including Better Homes and Gardens Complete Guide to
Quilting, Crazy Quilting in a Weekend and 100 Best Full-Size Quilt Blocks & Borders. If you like to keep
your hands and mind busy but quilting is not for you, try knitting with the instructional book 10–20-30
Minutes to Learn to Knit complete with yarn and knitting needles. Books on scrapbooking, holiday
cooking, creating handbags, and making handpicked food gifts could also keep you busy.
If you want to relax, books on other subjects such as The Beatles, Tiffany lamps and other works with
color photos, scenic road trips, and 50 Uses for Your Dog are on display. Plan to visit the library during
October to see these and more. By placing your bid in the notebook on the Friends of the Library lobby
kiosk, you will be supporting library programs for the community. Thank you for your support!
