Teen Programs

DIY Canopic Jars | Wednesday, June 1 | 1:30-2:30 PM

Are you fascinated by ancient Egypt? Join us to sculpt and paint your very own canopic jar. According to The Metropolitan Museum of Art, “canopic jars were containers in which the separately mummified organs would be placed.” You can use yours to store jewelry or other trinkets!

DIY Lavender Sachets | Tuesday, June 7 | 1:30-2:15 PM

Join us to hand sew small sachets and fill them with dried lavender. Lavender sachets can be placed in sock drawers to keep moths away. You can also keep them in your bag, or in your locker once you head back to school, to make it smell nice and help you relax when you’re in need of a calm moment. No prior sewing experience is necessary, as we will be using basic stitches.
