Try At Home: Mango Languages

Are you interested in learning a new language? Check out Mango Languages!

Mango Languages offers lessons on over 70 languages, including English for those learning English as a second language. Mango Languages is accessible through the library’s website on our “digital resources” page. If you have not yet made an account, you will be prompted to sign up on Mango’s login page. Learning a language as a family can be a great way to spend time with one another, work on your child’s understanding of language, and better understand the world around you. Learning a language together also gives your family members the opportunity to practice the new language with others.

Mango Languages also offers American Sign Language! Learning ASL can be incredibly helpful in commuting, not only with the Deaf community, but also with younger children and with nonverbal people. Babies tend to pick up ASL before verbal language. This means that if they learn sign language, they can communicate before developing verbal skills. Learning ASL can also build motor skills and a base for future language development.
