Library adds new database: Reference USA

ReferenceUSA is a business and consumer research database, which allows users to locate people, search for executives, create marketing plans, conduct competitive analysis, compile mailing lists, search for jobs, search for doctors and dentists, and much more. Data can then be exported into spreadsheets and charts for easy use.

Researchers of all kinds will love this powerful tool. Small business owners and entrepreneurs can conduct market analysis and research surrounding competitors. Job seekers have access to more than 24 million U.S. businesses with human resource contact information, company descriptions, and links to job postings provided. Students and researchers can use ReferenceUSA to profile neighborhoods, cities, and states by businesses present, household income, spending habits, and more.

New to Plainfield? New homeowners, or those looking to buy, can research home values and median income of residents in the area. Information on nearby schools, churches, and healthcare providers are also included in the database and are updated weekly.

There’s so much to discover with ReferenceUSA! Log in with your library card number by visiting our Online Databases Page. If you do not have a library card, ReferenceUSA can be accessed from any computer in the library. For a quick overview, watch this tutorial from the library’s Niche Academy.
