Read Aloud Chapter Books

Whether it’s a story before bed, a playtime favorite, or an assigned book for school, reading aloud with your child is a great way to spend quality time as a family. However, as children grow into independent readers, it can be challenging for families to continue reading aloud together. Choosing to continue reading books aloud as your child ages can help them improve their skills as a reader in so many ways such as learning new vocabulary, enhancing problem solving, improving comprehension, and creating a healthy reading habit.

As your child grows, so can the complexity and length of the books you can read together. The books listed below are great introductions into the world of chapter books. Additionally, many of the listed works have been adapted to film or TV, giving your family more opportunities to connect over stories you share together.
