Try At Home: Tissue Paper Magnets

Is your fridge looking a little plain? Are you tired of doing the same crafts all the time? Then have we got the thing for you! Try making your very own magnet out of tissue paper, magnetic circle or strips, and cardboard.

To make this craft you’ll need:

  • tissue paper
  • magnet circles or strips
  • liquid glue
  • cardboard
  • marker
  • scissors

Here are the steps you’ll follow:

  1. Draw the shape you want your magnet to be on a piece of cardboard.
  2. Use scissors to cut out the shape you’ve just drawn
  3. Glue your tissue paper to the cardboard using your liquid glue
    1. There are a couple different ways you can glue the paper to the cardboard. You can lay the tissue paper down as a flat sheet, crumple the tissue paper, or roll the tissue paper into thin rods
  4. Once you’ve decorated your cardboard, stick your magnet strip to the back side of the magnet. You can either use a magnet strip that you need to glue to the back or a self-adhesive one. PRO-TIP: wait until your glue is dry to attach the magnet, especially if it’s not self-adhesive!
  5. Once your magnet is dry put is on the fridge or any other magnetic surface!
