Imagine Your Story

Imagine Your Story

The Plainfield-Guilford Township Public Library, along with thousands of libraries across the United States, celebrates creativity and imagination as part of the 2020 Summer Reading Club. The theme Imagine Your Story was chosen by the Collaborative Summer Library Program (CSLP) to help inspire children and people of all ages to build language skills, discuss literature, and experience the joy of reading. Dare to imagine your story this summer and brave new, exciting adventures through a nationwide celebration of reading!

Having said that, Summer Reading Club 2020 – like all other aspects of our daily life under a pandemic – will look a bit different then we’re use to. We’re keeping it simple and focused. Summer Reading Club is about reading – for fun, for averting some of that summer slide, and for establishing good literacy habits for everyone – babies to adults!

Registration

This year, there will be no registration. Instead, as you complete your age group’s reading target, you’ll fill out a form online.  The forms – for adults, teens, and children – are on the Summer Reading Club page. As you fill out the form, you’ll also choose which of the raffle prizes you’d like to be entered to win.

If you don’t have internet access, you can pick up a paper log to track your reading. Paper logs will be available with library curbside service, the Quaker Lunch Truck, and in the Little Free Library on Simmons Street.

Finding Things to Read

Access to the library may be limited at times this summer but there are other ways of getting books into your hands! (And all books count – they don’t have to be library books!)
