Food for Fines During National Library Week

Food for Fines During National Library Week

Celebrate National Library Week with us by replenishing Plainfield’s Little Free Libraries! Food for Fines is an initiative to help cardholders pay off their fines while also giving back to the community.

How it works:

From Monday, April 5 to Saturday, April 10, you can pay off overdue fines by donating non-perishable food items, personal hygiene products, paper towels, and cleaning products to the library. The library distributes the donated items to a number of local organizations and the Little Free Libraries.

We apply $1 toward your fines for every individually packaged product you bring in!

We will not accept items that are:

  • Damaged
  • Expired
  • Opened
  • In Glass Containers

More information:

Please note that Food for Fines donations will only apply for overdue fines that have accrued at the Plainfield-Guilford Township Public Library. Fines from other libraries, or for lost and damaged items, cannot be forgiven through this program.

Full details on the Food for Fines program can be found here.

Email us at askus@plainfieldlibrary.net if you have any questions.
